South Cotabato mobilizes over 13,000 auxiliary responders to bolster community safety and disaster response

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – The Province of South Cotabato has mobilized over 13,000 Provincial Police Auxiliary and Disaster Responder members, reinforcing local efforts in disaster preparedness, emergency response, and public safety at the grassroot level.

According to Dennis Dignadice, Barangay Affairs Chief, the responders are deployed in various barangays to assist individuals affected by a wide range of emergencies, including floods, typhoons, and road accidents.

“They serve as our first line of support in the province, especially in the areas that are difficult to reach during emergencies,”Dignadice said, helping facilitate evacuation, provide immediate aid, and ensure the safety of residents during crisis.

Aside from disaster response, auxiliary responders are also involved in maintaining peace and order, regularly reporting illegal activities and acts of violence to authorities. Their duties also include conducting food patrols and supporting various service initiatives.

Dignadice emphasized that their presence significantly improves response time particularly in remote and high-risk areas. Their active participation ensures that incidents are addressed promptly and the province remains informed and protected.

“Our responders are not only trained for emergencies but are also partners in everyday community and service,” he added.

As of now, their accomplishment report for the first quarter is being processed and their honorarium is expected to be released in May or June.

With over 13,000 personnel on the ground, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., continues to enhance its capacity to protect lives and maintain peace and order in times of crisis.
