SOUTH COTABATO — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has placed the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) on Blue Alert Status from March 30 to April 5, 2026 to ensure public safety during Holy Week.
Under Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., the province is strengthening preparedness amid increased travel, religious gatherings, and outdoor activities.
The PDRRMC, through the PDRRMO Emergency Operations Center, will intensify monitoring and coordination with concerned agencies.
PDRRMO Head Rolly Doane Aquino said the alert ensures readiness for road incidents, fire hazards, crowd management, and weather-related events.
“This allows us to strengthen coordination and maintain round-the-clock monitoring,” Aquino said.
Authorities urged the public to stay alert and follow safety measures, especially when traveling or attending gatherings.
Motorists are advised to check vehicles, while participants are encouraged to follow local guidelines.
The provincial government emphasized shared responsibility to ensure a safe and orderly Holy Week.
