The Provincial Population Office (PPO), in collaboration with the Municipal Government of Surallah, successfully launched the first phase of its localization efforts for the Devolution Transition Plan through the establishment of a Localized Population Database.
Held in Surallah, the consultation-dialogue focused on introducing tools for data collection and developing a basic demographic database tailored to the municipality’s needs. This initiative aims to strengthen local population management capabilities and align them with provincial and national goals.
The dialogue was attended by Mr. Lowell Lozaga, Local Population Officer Designate of Surallah, alongside staff members from the PPO. Their combined efforts signify a shared commitment to fostering data-driven planning and decision-making.
Surallah is the first of three municipalities selected this year for the rollout of localization strategies under the Devolution Transition Plan. These efforts highlight the PPO’s dedication to empowering local government units (LGUs) in addressing population-related challenges effectively.
Stay tuned for updates as the Provincial Population Office continues to expand its localization initiatives in other LGUs, ensuring inclusive and sustainable population development across South Cotabato.
