The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has dispatched relief and humanitarian assistance to typhoon-affected communities in Cebu Province, reaffirming its commitment to extend help beyond the province’s borders in times of crisis.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. has directed concerned provincial offices, including the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) and the Provincial Health Office, to organize and mobilize relief items for immediate delivery to affected families in the province of Cebu Cebu.
According to initial reports, several areas in the Province of Cebu sustained heavy damage from the recent typhoon, leaving many residents in urgent need of food, clean water, and other essential supplies.
The South Cotabato PDRRMO said that the province’s response team is already at Visayas currently travelling onwards to Cebu carrying food packs, hygiene kits, and other necessities.
The governor underscored that South Cotabato’s humanitarian initiative reflects the province’s spirit of solidarity and compassion.
He said that just as other regions have supported South Cotabato during times of calamity, it is now the province’s turn to extend the same help to those in need.
Rolly Doane C. Aquino, Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer , said the relief mission is expected to arrive in Cebu this Friday.
Furthermore, PDRRMO Aquino reassured South Cotabateños while the province extends help to neighboring and affected provinces, the province’s supply of relief goods remain sufficient and ready.
