South Cotabato – The Provincial Government of South Cotabato project monitoring team scrutinized over 120 infrastructure projects, a Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator-Research, Evaluation and Monitoring Division reported.
As mandated by South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., the provincial government strictly keeps tabs on the ongoing and already finished infrastructure projects in the province through regular monitoring and quality testing of the local project monitoring committee.
According to OPPDC-REM’s Statistician I, Arnold Aba, stated that the province upholds strict monitoring from start to finish.
“We make sure that all ongoing projects are closely monitored up until its completion to make sure that public funds are put into good use and also to deliver the target completion date of the project” – Aba said.
Furthermore, Aba also added that despite challenges such as geographical locations of the projects, the committee monitors an average of 10-12 projects per month.
Meanwhile, aside from the OPPDC’s regular monitoring committee, members of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) also took part in the monitoring of provincial projects through the Provincial Project Monitoring Committee (PPMC) , to assure a more balanced and equal representation across sectors in the society.
With the province’s redundancy in its project monitoring committee, the provincial government actualizes its tagline of the “tama at maayos na serbisyo” brand of public service through transparent infrastructure governance.
