KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan has approved key resolutions supporting several local civil society organizations, reinforcing the province’s commitment to grassroots development and community empowerment.
Recognized under separate resolutions are the Sto. Niño Teachers and Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Sto. Niño (Resolution No. 2026-064), the Lake Sebu Communal Irrigators Association, Inc. (Resolution No. 2026-063), and the Cinco Samahang Nayon Multi-Purpose Cooperative of Banga, South Cotabato (Resolution No. 2026-063).
Julius Ceasar Maniego, Cooperative Development Specialist I, highlighted that the recognition reflects the provincial government’s continued push to empower organized sectors.
“These CSOs are key development partners. By supporting them, we ensure that services and opportunities reach communities directly,” Maniego said.
The provincial CSO focal person also noted the steady growth of civil society participation in governance.
“As of March 2026, we have recorded a total of 41 accredited Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in South Cotabato. This indicates increasing community engagement and stronger collaboration between the government and the people,” he added.
The Provincial Government of South Cotabato under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., continues to implement programs that enhance cooperative development, strengthen CSO participation, and promote inclusive governance across all municipalities.
With sustained support, these organizations are expected to further contribute to the province’s economic resilience and community-driven progress.
