KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato —The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of South Cotabato approved six ordinances authorizing Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. to enter into several Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with national government agencies and partner institutions aimed at strengthening agriculture, healthcare, science and technology, environmental management, and food security programs in the province.
Among the approved measures is a Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office XII to support agricultural development initiatives and enhance assistance to local farmers.
The SP record also showed that the provincial board members authorized agreements with the Department of Health-SOCCSKSARGEN Drug Abuse Treatment and Rehabilitation Center and the Department of Health-Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN Region to further improve public health services, rehabilitation programs, and healthcare delivery across South Cotabato.
The Sangguniang Panlalawigan likewise approved a Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement with the Seven Falls Tenured Migrants, reinforcing the province’s commitment to sustainable resource management and community development in the Seven Falls area.
The provincial board also authorized Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. to sign a tripartite Memorandum of Agreement with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-SOCCSKSARGEN Region and the University of the Philippines for the implementation of the SMART-ER SOCCSKSARGEN Project, which aims to advance science- and technology-based solutions for local development.
Meanwhile, SP also authorized the governor to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement with Food Terminal Incorporated (FTI) for the implementation of the ₱20 Rice Project, a program designed to provide affordable rice to qualified beneficiaries while supporting the government’s food security initiatives.
Provincial officials said the approved ordinances reflect the Provincial Government of South Cotabato’s continuing commitment to expanding strategic partnerships that will strengthen public services, improve agricultural productivity, enhance healthcare, promote innovation, and ensure greater food accessibility for the people of South Cotabato.
