South Cotabato Board passes key ordinances supporting Gov. Tamayo’s priority programs

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan of South Cotabato has approved several ordinances supporting Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. in implementing priority programs aimed at improving social services, agriculture, health, and economic opportunities in the province.

Among the measures passed is an ordinance authorizing the provincial government to partner with the Department of Social Welfare and Development for the implementation of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens, ensuring financial support for elderly beneficiaries.

Other ordinances also strengthen agricultural development through partnerships with the Department of Agriculture, including the implementation of a goat production project and additional support for livestock production. Youth participation in agriculture will also be promoted through the establishment of 4-H Clubs across the province.

The Provincial Board also approved agreements with the Department of Health for health programs, selected hospitals for the province’s Crisis Intervention Program, and the co-management of the Provincial Food Processing Center with the Municipal Federation of Rural Improvement Clubs in Banga.

Meanwhile, Governor Tamayo emphasized the importance of swift approvals to accelerate program implementation and service delivery.

“Yung mga resolution authorizing the governor to enter into agreements with national agencies napakaimportante talaga. Sana hindi magtagal para mabilis ang pirmahan at implementasyon ng mga programa,” the governor said.

He added that once agreements are finalized, the province can immediately roll out services that directly benefit communities.

“Sini-certify ko naman na urgent para mapabilis ang proseso at mas mabilis nating maihatid ang serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan,” Tamayo added.

Provincial officials said the approved ordinances reflect strong collaboration between the executive and legislative branches to ensure that programs and services reach the people of South Cotabato more efficiently.
