South Cotabato pushes for enhanced tutorial programs for the next 3 years to Sustain High Literacy Rate

South Cotabato, Philippines| August 12, 2025 – The provincial government of South Cotabato is strengthening its commitment to accessible and quality education through the augmentation of tutorial programs, particularly in reading, for the next three years.

While free education is already available in the province, Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. emphasized the need to enhance current initiatives to ensure that quality keeps pace with accessibility.

“I hope that with the collaboration of the Department of Education and local government units, we can achieve our dream of a true South Cotabato where intelligent and capable youth will thrive,” Governor Tamayo said.

Currently ranked among the top 10 provinces in the country in terms of literacy rate, South Cotabato is determined to sustain and improve its standing.

The “Tutorial South Cotabato Literate: Doon Tayo” program aims to provide targeted reading assistance, ensuring that students, especially those struggling with foundational skills, receive the guidance they need.

Governor Tamayo also believes that with a consistent tutorial augmentation, the province can maintain its strong literacy record for the whole nation.
