South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has been recognized with the 2026 Philippine Local Governance Award (PHALGA) Excellence Award in recognition of its outstanding commitment to good governance and public service.
The award was presented in acknowledgment of South Cotabato’s achievement as a recipient of the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for Calendar Year 2024, a distinction granted to local government units that demonstrate excellence in transparency, accountability, service delivery, and sustainable development.
The recognition was received by Cynthia F. Barrientos, CPA, Provincial Accountant, on behalf of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato during the awarding ceremony held on May 19, 2026, at Dakak Golf and Beach Resort in Dapitan City.
The PHALGA Excellence Award highlights the province’s continuing efforts to strengthen governance systems, promote responsible management of public resources, and implement programs that directly benefit communities. It also reflects the dedication of provincial government employees and stakeholders in maintaining high standards of public service.
