South Cotabato has reached a significant milestone in its fiscal performance, with the Office of the Provincial Treasurer reporting ₱525 million in revenue collections as of July 31, 2025—representing 86% of the ₱610 million annual target.
With only ₱85 million left to collect for the remainder of the year, the Provincial Government is optimistic it will meet—or even surpass—its revenue goal by December.
“We are optimistic that in the coming months, we may even surpass our goal,” said Provincial Treasurer Alvim M. Batol, CPA. “Any excess in our collection may be used to support the supplemental budget.”
A substantial share of the province’s income came from health institutions, which collectively contributed ₱438 million. These include the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital, Norala District Hospital, and Polomolok Municipal Hospital.
Real Property Taxes also made a significant contribution, with ₱113 million collected to date—already 83% of the ₱136 million target for the year.
Other revenue sources include:
- ₱8.9 million from veterinary fees
- ₱6.6 million from sand and gravel taxes
- ₱2 million from the hospital waste treatment facility
Provincial Treasurer Batol extended his gratitude to the revenue-generating offices and partner agencies for their support. These include the Office of the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Officer (OPENRO), Office of the Provincial Assessor (OPASS), South Cotabato Economic Enterprise and Management Office (SCEEMO), Office of the Provincial Veterinary Officer (OPVET), and the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), along with its district hospitals.
The Provincial Treasurer’s Office continues to send billing notices for Real Property Tax. Meanwhile, the province’s tax relief program—the Real Property Tax Condonation Program—remains in effect until July 2026. Under this program, property owners can settle their back taxes without paying penalties and interest.
“There are no additional interests or penalties for payments made during the condonation period,” Batol emphasized. “However, we are also preparing for the Auction Sale scheduled for early next year.”
Real property owners are encouraged to visit their local Municipal Treasurer’s Offices or the Provincial Treasurer’s Office to settle their dues and avoid complications related to delinquency.
