KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The South Cotabato Convergence Approach for Transformation and Change Unification Program (CATCH UP) has rescheduled its upcoming Serbisyo Caravan in the municipality of Tboli to prioritize post-earthquake inspections of public infrastructure and essential facilities in convergence areas.
According to Project Development Officer Cris Pingkunn Fuentes, the activity, originally scheduled for next week, was postponed following the recent earthquake that affected parts of the province.
“The decision was made to allow concerned offices to conduct thorough assessments of government buildings and water systems, particularly in the convergence areas, to ensure the safety of residents and the continued functionality of essential services,” Fuentes explained.
Fuentes said the inspections are necessary to determine whether any structural damage was sustained and to ensure that all facilities are safe and fully operational before large scale public service activities resume.
“The safety and welfare of our constituents remain our top priority. Before conducting the Serbisyo Caravan, we must first ensure that public buildings, water systems, and other facilities in our convergence areas are safe and fully operational. This is part of our commitment to delivering services responsibly while protecting the communities we serve,” Fuentes said.
The CATCH UP Program is one of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato’s key strategies for bringing government services closer to communities, particularly in geographically isolated and underserved areas. Through a convergence approach, various provincial offices and partner agencies provide direct services, programs, and assistance to residents in a single venue.
The move also reflects the provincial government’s proactive disaster response and commitment to ensuring that public facilities remain safe and accessible.
The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., continues to prioritize public safety, responsive governance, and the efficient delivery of services. By conducting immediate infrastructure assessments following the earthquake, the province aims to maintain the integrity of public facilities while ensuring that government programs are implemented in a safe and secure environment.
A new schedule for the Serbisyo Caravan in Tboli will be announced once inspections and evaluations have been completed.
