South Cotabato returns to regular five-day work schedule

Koronadal City, South Cotabato, Philippines | May 12, 2026—-The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has reverted to its regular five-day workweek following approximately nine weeks of implementing a four-day onsite work arrangement (Monday to Thursday) and a work-from-home setup every Friday in provincial government offices. The regular schedule, from Monday to Friday, resumed starting May 11.

During the Monday flag ceremony, acting governor Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr., on behalf of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., announced the lifting of Administrative Order No. 2, Series of 2026, which covered the temporary work arrangement.

“Umpisa sini nga semana, magabalik na kita sa 5-day work week bangod nag-normalize naman ang sitwasyon, gani balik na kita.” Vice Governor Pingoy announced.

The four-day workweek arrangement was previously adopted in support of Malacañang Memorandum Circular No. 114, which directed all government agencies to implement energy conservation measures amid rising oil and electricity prices.

As conditions gradually return to normal, the resumption of the regular five-day work schedule is expected to further strengthen the delivery of public services and ensure the continuous implementation of programs and frontline services for the people of South Cotabato. Provincial officials added that the adjustment will also give constituents ample time and better access to transact with provincial offices and avail of government services throughout the workweek.
