South Cotabato rolls out ₱3,000 social pension payout to 60,776 senior citizens

South Cotabato, Philippines — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato is currently conducting the distribution of social pension to qualified senior citizen beneficiaries across the province, with 60,776 beneficiaries set to receive ₱3,000 each for the third quarter of 2026.

Community Affairs Officer III Sharon Rose Noman said the payout is being conducted in different cities and municipalities throughout the province to ensure that beneficiaries can conveniently receive their financial assistance.

“Ongoing subong ang social pension payout, gina-release naton sa aton mga lolo kag lola nga beneficiary throughout the province,” Noman said.

She added that the provincial government, under the direction of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., is bringing the payout closer to beneficiaries by conducting the distribution at the barangay level.

“Ang aton process nga pag-release, gusto gid sang aton governor nga ihatod gid siya sa tagsa ka barangay kay para indi na sila mabudlayan,” she said.

Based on the payout schedule, distribution began in Koronadal City on September 2 to 3 and will continue across the province until September 24, 2026, covering 11 localities. Koronadal has the highest number of beneficiaries with 11,498, followed by Polomolok with 8,277, Surallah with 6,884, and Banga with 6,813.

For senior citizens like Vicente Estiaga, a social pension beneficiary from Barangay Sto. Niño, the assistance serves as an important support for their daily needs.

“Dako gid ini nga bulig para sa amon nga mga senior citizen. Ang ₱3,000 nga amon mabaton makabulig gid sa amon adlaw-adlaw nga mga kinahanglanon. Nagapasalamat gid kami sa Provincial Government kag kay Governor Tamayo kay ginadala nila ang payout sa tagsa ka barangay, gani indi na kami mabudlayan magkadto sa malayo.”

Through the barangay-based distribution, the provincial government continues to bring social protection assistance closer to senior citizens, particularly those who may have difficulty traveling to centralized payout centers. The initiative underscores the province’s commitment to making government services more accessible and responsive to the needs of its communities.
