KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, through the Kabugwason Paglaum Scholarship Program, has opened at least 120 scholarship slots for college students for School Year 2026–2027 as hundreds of applicants continue to submit requirements during the ongoing application period.
Atty. Rhonalyn C. Gallego, KPSGIAP CAO/OIC Executive Director, said the scholarship office is currently accommodating a maximum of 100 applicants per day due to the high volume of documents being processed.
“Sa subong, naga-cater lang kami sang maximum nga 100 applicants per day kay indi na namon makaya ang volume sang documents. Ika-third day namon subong, lampas 200 na ang applicants,” Gallego said.
To ensure an organized process, the office implemented a priority number system. Applicants are called individually and guided through each step of the application procedure.
“Para orderly ang pag-accommodate namon sa mga clients, nagahatag kami sang priority numbers kag ginatawag sila isa-isa while gina-instraksiyonan sa kada step sang process,” she added.
Gallego said qualifying examinations will be conducted on the second, third, and fourth Saturdays and Sundays of June, depending on the number of applicants. After the examinations, applicants will be ranked based on the scholarship program’s implementing guidelines and priority points system.
She added that the scholarship committee is expected to conduct background investigations by the third and fourth weeks of July.
Aside from the 120 college scholarship slots, the provincial government also allocated 30 slots each for medicine and law students, and 50 slots for masteral and other post-graduate degree programs.
KPSP remains one of the province’s key educational assistance initiatives aimed at helping deserving students pursue higher education under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr.
