South Cotabato is preparing to usher in the Christmas season with warmth, creativity, and community spirit as the Provincial Government readies the launch of “Pasko sa Kapitolyo 2025: Liwanag ng Pasko” on December 1, 2025, at the Provincial Capitol grounds along Alunan Avenue, Koronadal City.
This year’s celebration centers on the theme “Liwanag ng Pasko”, carrying the message of unity in diversity: “Sa puting liwanag ng Pasko, magkakaisang puso ang ilaw ng pag-asa. Kristiyano, Muslim at Lumad—Isang Pasko, Isang Pamilya.”
According to Provincial General Services Officer Anna Rose Kasan, the theme was crafted to highlight how the province’s tri-people—Christians, Muslims, and Lumad—continue to stand together in harmony. “The celebration is a reminder that hope shines brightest when we move forward as one community,” she said.
Despite working with an approved budget of ₱450,000, the province is shaping a celebration that is both meaningful and resourceful. Kasan shared that the Christmas installations will be handcrafted by the Provincial General Services Office team, in collaboration with local artist Ronito R. Subaldo of McBaldz Artworks. The display will blend recycled lighting pieces and newly made structures, showcasing the ingenuity and cultural pride of the provincial workforce.
The opening program will feature a musical performance by the South Cotabato Family Rondalla, followed by a vibrant one-night Christmas Bazaar organized by the South Cotabato Economic Enterprise Management Office (SCEEMO) and the South Cotabato Economic and Investment Promotion Center (SCEIPC). Ten booths will be offered free of charge to startups, MSMEs, youth entrepreneurs, and local product makers—an initiative meant to uplift small businesses during the holiday season.
Local cooperatives will also take center stage through a dedicated Cooperatives Booth, organized by Board Member Almencion, the Office of the Provincial Cooperative Development Officer, and the Provincial Cooperative Development Council, featuring homegrown cooperative products.
Kasan emphasized that the preparation for “Pasko sa Kapitolyo” goes beyond decoration. “Every year, this celebration becomes a collective effort—a labor of love. It reflects not just our artistry, but the unity and hope shared by the tri-people of South Cotabato,” she said.
The province invites all South Cotabateños to join the ceremonial lighting, which will be streamed live on the official Facebook page of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato on December 1 at 6 PM.
With its message of unity, creativity, and shared hope, “Pasko sa Kapitolyo 2025: Liwanag ng Pasko” is set to brighten the province’s holiday season once again.
