KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — A total of 1,167,240 kilograms of fresh cassava tubers from South Cotabato farmers were successfully delivered to Daesang Philippines Corporation in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, through the market linkage initiative of the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAg)-South Cotabato.
Led by Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Raul D. Teves, the move is to ensure the continuing partnership between OPAg, farmers’ cooperatives and Daesang Philippines Corporation Representative Chris Jayke S. Pacamalan.
According to Provincial Agriculturist, Dr. Raul D. Teves, “The partnership provides cassava growers with a more direct and stable market for their produce, helping improve market access and create opportunities for better prices.”
From May to July 2026, Polo SN MPC of Polomolok delivered 542,990 kilograms from May 31 to July 25; Self-Reliant MPC of Surallah delivered 368,890 kilograms from June 14 to July 31; while Topland Farmers’ Cooperative of Koronadal delivered 255,360 kilograms from June 4 to July 28.
The market linkage demonstrates how collaboration among the provincial government, private sector, and farmers’ cooperatives can open more opportunities for agricultural producers.
Farmers interested in accessing the market may coordinate with Polo SN MPC, Self-Reliant MPC, and Topland Farmers’ Cooperative for requirements, delivery schedules, and current buying prices.
