South Cotabato strengthens academe partnership

South Cotabato, Philippines — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato is strengthening its partnership with academic institutions to advance evidence-based governance and improve public service delivery.

Leiancee Gayle Daanoy, Program Development Assistant, said the strengthened collaboration between the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) and the academe underscores the province’s commitment to ensuring that development programs are grounded in research, data, and innovation.

“Through this partnership, academic institutions contribute to the research, analysis, and validation of Projects, Programs, and Activities (PPAs), helping ensure that initiatives are responsive, efficient, and impactful prior to implementation,” Daanoy said.

As part of this effort, the Provincial Research, Innovation and Development Committee (PRIDC) recently conducted a strategic planning session in Lake Sebu, where stakeholders from government and the academe worked together to craft a comprehensive three-year plan to guide research-driven initiatives in the province.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration with academic partners.

“As part of our commitment to strengthening collaboration with the academe, we welcome this initiative as we put significant importance on providing data-based and evidence-based programs in our province,” the governor said.

The activity gathered representatives from provincial and regional government offices, along with academic institutions across South Cotabato, reflecting a shared commitment to integrating academic expertise into governance.

By strengthening its partnership with the academe, the province continues to foster innovation and ensure that development programs are aligned with the real needs of South Cotabateños, paving the way for more sustainable and forward-thinking public service initiatives.
