South Cotabato — The Provincial Government continues to reinforce its commitment to participatory governance by empowering civil society organizations (CSOs) across the province through the pioneering CSO Academy, an initiative designed to enhance the capacity, credibility, and effectiveness of local CSOs.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. emphasized the crucial role of CSOs in ensuring transparency and accountability in government programs. According to him, CSOs are vital partners in evaluating and monitoring the implementation of provincial projects, helping guarantee that development efforts truly benefit communities.
Tamayo shared.
He added that the establishment of the CSO Academy aims to strengthen the capability of organizations by providing formal training and structured learning opportunities.
This initiative equips CSOs with the knowledge and skills necessary to actively participate in governance processes and project oversight.
South Cotabato remains the only local government unit in the Philippines to implement a province-led CSO Academy—cementing its leadership in inclusive governance and collaborative public service.
The Provincial Government continues to encourage active engagement from all CSOs as the province pushes forward with its commitment to a transparent, accountable, and people-centered government.
