South Cotabato strengthens dialysis program as Polomolok hospital benchmarks Norala facility ahead of March opening

South Cotabato, Philippines —   Healthcare personnel from Polomolok Municipal Hospital recently conducted a bench-marking activity at the Hemodialysis Unit of Norala District Hospital as part of their preparations for the opening of their own dialysis facility on March 18, 2026.

The visit allowed the Polomolok medical team to observe the daily operations of a fully functioning dialysis center, including the proper use of dialysis machines, patient care management, and strict infection control protocols necessary to ensure safe treatment for patients with kidney disease.

Members of the NDH Hemodialysis Team welcomed the delegation and shared their operational experiences, including the systems they established and the lessons learned in providing consistent dialysis services to patients.

Once operational, the dialysis center in Polomolok will become the third facility in South Cotabato providing free dialysis services to residents.

Existing dialysis units are currently operating at Norala District Hospital and South Cotabato Provincial Hospital.

According to Governor Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., expanding access to dialysis treatment remains one of the priorities of the provincial government as it continues to strengthen healthcare services across the province.

“We want to make to sure that before this administration ends, essential health services such as dialysis are already accessible to more South Cotabateños,” Tamayo said, emphasizing the province’s commitment to bring life-saving treatment closer to communities.

Provincial officials said the continued expansion of dialysis facilities reflects the government’s push to ensure that critical healthcare services remain accessible, especially for patients who rely on regular dialysis to survive.
