Koronadal City, South Cotabato, Philippines – In a major step toward digital governance, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato has officially rolled out its GCash Cashless Payment Scheme, enabling residents to pay government fees faster and more securely across key provincial offices—marking a significant leap in the delivery of “Tama kag Maayo nga Serbisyo.”
The program enables taxpayers and clients to settle dues using GCash QR Scan-to-Pay, now available at the South Cotabato Sports Complex (SCSC), South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center, Seven Falls and Zipline Facility in Lake Sebu, and selected transactions at the Office of the Provincial Treasurer.
Payments supported include Real Property Tax (RPT), Transfer Taxes, Sand and Gravel Taxes, and various provincial fees.
Provincial Treasurer Alvim M. Batol, CPA, underscored the province’s push for digital transformation.
“This is one of the modes of payment because we want to digitalize all our transactions. We are launching the GCash QR Code Payment in our facilities and selected transactions at the Office of the Provincial Treasurer so taxpayers can enjoy safer, faster, and more convenient transactions,” he said.
To support system sustainability, the province applies minimal convenience fees—₱15 for OPT and Zipline transactions and ₱5 for payments at the SCSC.
Batol assured the public that accountability and transparency remain at the center of operations.
“We will still issue official receipts. Once you pay through GCash, the payment immediately reflects in our bank account. Everything is fully accounted for and reported to COA, so the public has nothing to worry about,” he emphasized.
He also reminded taxpayers to keep their receipt copies, while COA retains the duplicates for audit purposes.
Currently, online payments are accepted from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, in line with operating hours of provincial facilities.
While GCash itself functions 24/7, nighttime transactions cannot yet be processed until system integration is complete. Batol revealed that the province is working toward expanded digitalization.
“Our IT team is developing in-house software for a full online payment portal. We hope that by 2026, taxpayers can already access a 24/7 payment system,” he added.
He encouraged the public to support the initiative.
“We now have another convenient option for paying taxes, fees, and charges. We seek your support so we can accelerate locally sourced revenues. Everything we collect is accounted for and returned to the people through government programs and services,” Batol said.
Through the rollout of the GCash Cashless Payment Scheme, South Cotabato continues to lead in digital governance—strengthening efficiency, transparency, and public convenience while upholding its promise of Tama kag Maayo nga Serbisyo for all.
