KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato strengthened its commitment to open governance by expanding public information programs that promote transparency and citizen engagement.
Key platforms include “Pulong-pulong sa Katawhan,” a weekly press briefing held in different areas where provincial offices present programs and services. The activity is conducted with the South Cotabato Press Corps.
The “Governor Meets the Press” program, led by Reynaldo Tamayo Jr., provides updates on policies and addresses media queries.
The province also launched “Itanong Mo Kay Gov,” an online Q&A segment where residents can raise concerns directly to the governor.
Gov. Tamayo said openness builds trust and encourages public participation.
“ When leaders are transparent, people become more engaged,” he said.
Officials said these platforms improve access to information and strengthen accountability.
South Cotabato is a member of the Open Government Partnership, promoting transparency and citizen participation in governance.
