South Cotabato, Philippines – As part of the Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 celebration, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato will host the South Cotabato Youth Festival throughout the entire month of August.
Anchored on the theme “Local Youth Action for SDGs and Beyond,” the month-long celebration aims to strengthen the role of young people in community development and nation-building.
Jobeelyn Baitus-Corilla, Local Youth Development Officer III, laid all the planned activities for the festival. One of the major highlights of the festival is the Oath Taking Ceremony of the newly elected Provincial Youth Development Council (PYDC) members and Provincial Junior Officials on August 11, followed by the Youth Congress for Youth Achievers on August 12 at Agua Frio Garden Resort.
“Another key event is the Provincial Youth Camp from August 14 to 17 at Sto. Niño National High School. The camp will gather youth leaders and advocates from various municipalities across the province,” she said.
In the final week of August, the festival will feature major activities, including the SK Congress on August 22, the SK Sports Fest on August 23, and the SK Awarding and Youth Day Celebration on August 24, all taking place at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Centre.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. expressed his full support for the youth sector and reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to implementing programs that empower the youth to become leaders, innovators, and active participants in public service. Additional activities, including elections and capacity-building sessions, will also be conducted on scheduled dates throughout the month.
