KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato, through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) and the Barangay Affairs Unit (BAU), is preparing to distribute 10-kilogram rice packs to RST members and health navigators as part of its ongoing social support program.
A total of 40,000 beneficiaries across the province are expected to receive the aid, with at least 20,000 slots allocated specifically for RST members and health navigators.
Barangay Affairs Chief Dennis Dignadice emphasized that this initiative is a vital support system for families facing financial hardship and a way to strengthen community-based services.
“Malaking tulong ito sa ating mga RST at navigator members na patuloy na naglilingkod sa ating probinsiya sa kabila ng kahirapan sa buhay,” Dignadice said.
The subsidy plan allocates rice distribution to 65 RST beneficiaries and 40 health navigators per barangay. At the purok level, beneficiaries are estimated at five individuals each, depending on the size of the barangay.
Dignadice confirmed that the list of recipients has already undergone validation to ensure accuracy and proper targeting.
“Ang tulong na ito ay sinisigurong mapupunta sa mga karapat-dapat na miyembro, kaya sumasailalim talaga ito sa masusing validation,” he added.
While preparations are underway, the exact schedule is yet to be announced. Authorities are currently coordinating with local government units (LGUs) to ensure an organized and efficient rollout.
Under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., the provincial government remains committed to advancing inclusive and responsive social welfare programs that uplift communities and strengthen support for frontline workers across the province.
