South Cotabato to re-launch Integrated Provincial Online Database under 3rd OGP action plan

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato is set to re-launch the Integrated Provincial Online Database (IPOD) within 2026 as part of its continuing commitment to transparency, accessibility, and open governance under the province’s 3rd Open Government Partnership (OGP) Action Plan.

The initiative aims to strengthen public access to government information by providing citizens with an online platform where necessary provincial data and information can be conveniently accessed without the need to physically visit the Provincial Capitol.

According to Rio Ann Padrones, Project Development Officer II, the project will play a significant role in promoting participatory governance and improving public access to information.

The IPOD will serve as a vital tool in making government information more accessible and organized for the public. Through this system, citizens can better engage with government programs and services while promoting transparency and informed participation in governance,” Padrones explained.

Initial implementation of the project will focus on identifying, consolidating, and processing the data that will be uploaded into the system.

“The platform will utilize a cloud-based server infrastructure, allowing residents, stakeholders, and partner institutions to freely access available information anytime and anywhere through the internet,” Padrones said.

The Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator emphasized that the project is anchored on South Cotabato’s Freedom of Information (FOI) Ordinance, reinforcing the provincial government’s commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. highlighted the importance of digital innovation in strengthening public trust and improving government services.

Through the re-launch of the IPOD, we are ensuring that government information becomes more accessible to our people. Transparency is not only a commitment but a responsibility, and we want every South Cotabateño to easily access the information they need through modern and efficient systems,” Governor Tamayo said.

The implementation and development of the IPOD project is targeted to continue until April 2028, with future enhancements already being planned to further expand the system’s capabilities.

Future developments of the system are also expected to integrate various services and information systems of the Provincial Government of South Cotabato into a unified digital platform, making government transactions and information management more efficient and citizen-centered.

The re-launch of the IPOD forms part of South Cotabato’s broader efforts to institutionalize open governance initiatives and strengthen digital transformation programs for inclusive and transparent public service delivery.
