KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato officially launched the celebration of the 60th Foundation Anniversary of South Cotabato and the 27th Tnalak Festival in a vibrant media launching program held at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center.
The event gathered provincial officials, municipal leaders, members of the media, vloggers, cultural workers, performers, and guests as organizers unveiled the official theme, soundtrack, logos, and visual identity for this year’s celebration.
The media launching highlighted the province’s identity as a peaceful and culturally diverse community shaped by the contributions of Indigenous Peoples, Muslim communities, and settlers who helped build South Cotabato through the years with the theme, “Our culture, Our Strength, Our Pride.”
In his message, Vice Governor Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr. emphasized the importance of honoring the province’s cultural roots and recognizing the people who contributed to the development of South Cotabato.
He paid tribute to the Indigenous Peoples for preserving traditions and cultural heritage, acknowledged the Muslim communities for their role in strengthening unity and peace, and recognized the settlers whose sacrifices and hard work helped transform the province into what it is today.
The vice governor also honored the legacy of former governors and leaders who laid the foundation for progress and public service in South Cotabato.
“Our celebration today reflects the journey of our people and the leadership of those who came before us. We continue to enjoy peace and development because many individuals helped shape South Cotabato through generations,” Pingoy said.
He also called on members of the media and content creators to help promote the province by sharing stories that reflect the true image of South Cotabato.
Vice Governor Pingoy encouraged media practitioners and vloggers to showcase the province’s peaceful communities, cultural richness, tourism destinations, and the unity among its people.
“Help us tell the story of a peaceful South Cotabato. Through your platforms, let more people see the beauty, culture, and harmony that define our province,” he added.
Festival Director Rudy S. Jimenea, meanwhile, described the celebration as more than just a festival, saying it is a tribute to identity, history, and shared aspirations.
“This celebration belongs to every South Cotabateño. It reflects our culture, our stories, and our continuing journey as one province,” Jimenea said.
One of the highlights of the event was the unveiling of the official logos and colors representing both the 60th Foundation Anniversary and the 27th Tnalak Festival. Organizers explained that the visual designs symbolize resilience, unity, creativity, and cultural pride.
Guests were also introduced to the official soundtrack of this year’s celebration, featuring music inspired by the spirit and traditions of South Cotabato.
Cultural performances and audio-visual presentations added excitement to the event as performers showcased the artistry and heritage of the province.
The Tnalak Festival remains one of South Cotabato’s biggest annual celebrations, honoring the dreamweavers of the Tboli and Blaan communities while promoting the province’s arts, culture, tourism, and people.
This year’s celebration marks a significant milestone as South Cotabato commemorates six decades of progress, unity, and service to its people.
