South Cotabato – The Provincial Project Monitoring Committee (PPMC) Provincial Government of South Cotabato was recognized for committee’s excellence in Project Oversight and ideal functionality rating in the recently concluded Subaybayani Regional Awards 2025 at the Farm at Carpenter Hill, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato.
The PPMC was recognized by the Department of Interior and Local Government Region 12 for its efficient implementation of digitalization and modernization practices of conducting monitoring through the use of the ‘KOBOCollect’ Toolbox application.
According to Jose Daniel Salamat, Research, Evaluation, and Monitoring Division Chief, this recognition is a manifestation of the province’s longstanding commitment in a transparent governance.
“Here in the Province, we regularly conduct monitoring of our ongoing and finished projects to assure that all public funds are spent accordingly – and also as our counterpart in upholding transparency in governance” – Salamat stated.
Furthermore, Salamat also added that this award is from the collaborative partnership of the government and CSOs.
“This award only shows the result of the efforts of our Provincial Government, together with our Civil Society Organizations, in upholding full transparency of the projects in the province” – Salamat said.
Meanwhile, aside from the excellence in project oversight award, the PPMC also achieved the ideal functionality rating in their monitoring practices.
The Provincial Project Monitoring Committee (PPMC), composed of government and Civil Society Organization members, serves as the province’s watchdog in monitoring the province’s ongoing and finished infrastructure projects.
The 2025 Subaybayani Awards is an initiative under the DILG which aims to recognize Local Government Units (LGUs) that exhibit outstanding excellence in infrastructure governance.
