Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. lauded the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for distributing a total of Php2.16 million worth of livelihood starter kits to at least 108 recipients of the province to jump-start their economic activity after being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the release of Livelihood Assistance of the Kabuhayan starter kits held early today at the Capitol Covered Court, Tamayo said that the strong partnership between the national and the local government will bring a huge impact on peoples’ lives.
List of starter kits distributed today include the following:
1. 39 vulcanizing equipment worth Php 778,050.00
2. 38 units welding machine worth Php758,100.00
3. 17 carpentry tools/equipment worth Php339,150.00
4. 14 units of carwash equipment worth Php279,300.00
5. 1 massage equipment worth Php15,200. 00
Tamayo added that this partnership should continue in collaboration with the DOLE as the funding source of the starter kits, the TESDA which provides training, and the provincial government who monitors and identifies the recipients.
“If all programs of the government will continue, this will bring progress especially to the poor and marginalized sector of the society.” He said,
The turn-over ceremony of the Livelihood Starter Kits was also attended by DOLE South Cotabato Field Office Head Remily D. Oca, Kabuhayan Starter Kits Focal Person Gelsy Lanzaderas, Vice Governor Vicente de Jesus, Board Member Ma.Ester Marin Catorce and PESO Head Flora Cavan.
