According to Nencita Acain, PEMO – Mines and Geo-Sciences Division Supervising Administrative Officer, the increase in collection is due to the effective information and enforcement drive on Small-Scale Miners (SSM) in the municipality of T’boli to pay their tax obligations to the province.

Some 300 SSM are now operating in the said town and concentrated in the mining barangay of Kematu.
