Four (4) infrastructure projects requested by the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) with a project cost of P11,365,906.60 was approved last August 4 this year by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan under SP Resolution #368 as part of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund – Investment Plan (PDRRMF – IP) Trust Fund Plans, Programs and Activities (PPAs).
The approved projects were Construction of Erosion Control at Hanoon Elementary School in Lake Sebu (P4,000,000), Construction of Flood Control at Sitio Esting, Lampitak in Tampakan (P1,000,000), Construction of 1 unit Box Culvert connecting Purok Pag-asa and Purok B’laan in Magsaysay, Koronadal City (P1,268,336.57), Construction of 1 unit Box Culvert in Rizal, Banga (P2,500,00) and Construction of Purok Lapu-lapu Bridge in Puti, Norala (P5,097,570).
Aside from PEO, included in the said SP resolution were approved projects of the Provincial Environment Management Office in the amount of P300,000 for their “Developing Resilient Interventions for the Vulnerable Environment of South Cotabato” and 2 projects of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, namely; “Financial Assistance to LGUs for the Conduct of Community-Based Monitoring System (P2.100,000) and Orientation Workshop on Mainstreaming Climate Change and Disaster Risk in the Comprehensive Development Plan (P216,000).
Source of funds for the projects comes from 5% Calamity Fund of the province which is managed by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.
