Koronadal City, South Cotabato — The Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved several ordinances authorizing Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. to enter into Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with national agencies, private partners, cooperatives, and indigenous communities to expand development programs in the province.
Vice Governor Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr. said the measures reflect stronger coordination between the executive and legislative branches to bring government services closer to communities.
“Ang importante sini amo nga mas mapadasig kag mapalapnag pa naton ang serbisyo sang gobyerno paadto sa aton mga katawhan” Pingoy said.
Key measures include the establishment of a Provincial Agriculturist Satellite Office in Barangay Maan, Tboli with the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples to improve access to agricultural services in remote areas, and the implementation of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program to support income-generating projects.
The board also approved a MOA with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office XII for the Area Vocational Rehabilitation Center, as well as partnerships with indigenous communities and Kennemer Ecoworks Philippines Corporation for environmental and ancestral domain development initiatives.
A separate agreement with the Barangay Rubber Farmers Agriculture Cooperative in Polomolok will support the construction of a village-type food processing center to enhance value-adding and farmer income.
The approved ordinances reflect the continued efforts of the provincial government to strengthen partnerships and expand programs that support agriculture, livelihood, indigenous peoples, and community development in South Cotabato.
