KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato — The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has officially opened the submission of entries for the Thematic Dance Competition in line with the upcoming 27th T’nalak Festival and 60th Founding Anniversary celebration of the Province of South Cotabato.
This year’s competition carries the theme “Damgo kag Gahum: A Convergence of Heroic Tales and Legends,” highlighting cultural narratives, heroism, and local heritage through creative dance performances.
Each participating group must consist of at least 50 performers. Only five (5) entries will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
The deadline for submission of entries is on May 20, 2026. Applications must be submitted at the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator – Special Projects Division. For inquiries and other concerns, interested participants may contact (083) 228-9325.
The Thematic Dance Competition is scheduled for July 13, 2026, and will be part of the Opening Program of the 27th Tnalak Festival and the 60th Founding Anniversary celebration.
Project Development Officer II Kenelynn D. Ariño said preparations for the competition are already underway, as the provincial government ensures an organized and meaningful staging of the event.
She added that the activity aims to showcase the creativity and talent of participating groups while promoting the province’s cultural identity through dance.
Meanwhile, the Provincial Government is gearing up for a series of vibrant and culturally rich festivities for the upcoming T’nalak Festival and the province’s Diamond Jubilee Foundation Anniversary, which will feature various cultural presentations, community-based activities, and events that highlight the province’s heritage, unity, and artistic expression.
