Summit aims to strengthen cooperatives across South Cotabato

Koronadal City, South Cotabato |October 1, 2025 – The Provincial Cooperatives Development Office, in partnership with the South Cotabato Provincial Cooperatives Development Council, will host the 3rd Cooperative Summit this October to mark Cooperative Month and strengthen the cooperative movement in the province.

The event on October 30, 2025, at the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center in Koronadal City, will gather cooperative leaders, members, and stakeholders from across the province.

A kickoff activity held today, October 1, 2025, marked the start of Consumer Welfare Month, the Cooperative Month celebration, and International Coffee Day.

This year’s celebration carries the theme: “Cooperatives United in Purpose and Action, Sharing Prosperity to Build a Better World.”

The summit will feature cooperative meetings, strategic planning sessions, capacity-building workshops, and various activities—including a booth display competition, variety show, community outreach, and an awards ceremony—all aimed at strengthening cooperatives and showcasing their contributions to community development.

Provincial Cooperatives and Development Officer, Atty. Renette B. Bergado shared the importance of this celebration in the province.

“We are doing this to show that cooperatives are partners in nation-building and in uplifting the lives of their members,” Bergado said.

The Provincial Government emphasizes that supporting cooperatives and their associations is essential to strengthening their participation in the province’s planning and development efforts.

Through collaboration and shared goals, cooperatives help improve the quality of life of their members and contribute to building a more inclusive and prosperous South Cotabato.

The Provincial Government invites all cooperative members and stakeholders to take part in the summit and contribute to the collective effort of building a stronger and more empowered cooperative community in the province.
