The Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit bared the 2022 South Cotabato Arts Festival activities during the Local Culture and Arts Council (LCAC) meeting attended by the Dance, Music, Theater Arts and Fashion Design Sectors recently held at Agua Frio, City of Koronadal.
Anna Liz Cabrido, Culture and Arts Coordinator presented the schedule of activities to give the attendees an overview of the province’s contribution dubbed the Tubas Taliambong (or Ani ng Sining Festival) to the annual National Arts Month (NAM) celebration spearheaded by the National Commission for Culture and The Arts (NCCA).
The scheduled activities for the Music Sector are as follows: February 4 – Webinar Series 1 (Music Theory with Speaker): February 11 – Webinar Series 2 (Traditional Music in the Digital World – Song-WritingContest); February 18 – Webinar Series 3 (A Day of Music with Saro Banares); February 26 – Performance of Top 3 Song-writing Contest Winners.
For the Visual Arts, their month-long activities include a 3-Man Exhibit of South Cotabato Artists Neil Jay Castante, Haron Castromayor, Henry Santander starting on February 5 featuring their Ink and Pen, Terra Cotta Sculpture and Painting exhibits. AAn rt Workshop will also be held every Saturdays of February.
The Dance Sector meanwhile will conduct a Dance All-Style Competition on February 8.
Theater Arts Sector will also conduct a Training/Workshop from February 16 – 18 on Acting, Stage Management and Playwriting with Hands-on the last day of the training . Cabrido said that the attendees will come from DepED’s Special Program for the Arts.
The Arts Festival culmination day will be on February 26 which will be highlighted by the Tubas Taliambong Awards – Recognition of Artists.
A Fashion Show featuring Blaan Traditional Arts of the City of Koronadal, Polomolok and Tampakan, particularly their Ansif embroidery will be showcased and performed by South Cotabato Fashion Artists during culmination day
An Awarding of Prizes to the Top 3 Songwriting Winners will also be conducted after their performance .
