Top 10 most visited destinations highlight tourism growth in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato – Tourism in South Cotabato continues to flourish as both local and out-of-town visitors explore the province’s rich natural landscapes, cultural landmarks, and emerging leisure destinations based on the record released by the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum Unit.

Argie Ryan Asaria, Senior Tourism Operations Officer, said the recent tourism monitoring data identified the Top 10 Most Visited Destinations in South Cotabato, reflecting the province’s growing reputation as a must-visit hub in SOCCSKSARGEN.

“Leading the list is the iconic Seven Falls in Lake Sebu, long considered the crown jewel of South Cotabato tourism,” he said.

Known for its breathtaking waterfalls cascading amid lush forests, the site attracts adventurers, nature lovers, and cultural tourists eager to experience the T’boli community’s heritage alongside scenic beauty.

Zipline rides offering aerial views of the falls have further boosted visitor interest.

“Agritourism also continues to gain popularity, highlighted by the Strawberry Guyabano Farm in Tupi, which has become a favorite destination for families and students,” Asaria pointed out.

Visitors enjoy fruit picking, farm tours, and fresh produce, supporting local farmers while promoting sustainable tourism practices.

Asaria said the resort tourism remains strong, with Sunrise Garden Lake Resort, Garden by the Lake Resort, Punta Isla Lake Resort, and Sa Balai Lake Resort drawing tourists seeking relaxation and lakeside experiences.

Many of these establishments are located around Lake Sebu, providing scenic views, cultural performances, and water-based recreational activities.

“Their growth demonstrates increasing investments in hospitality infrastructure within the province,” he said.

Frances Cerbo, ACTM Promotions Head, said visitors often combine leisure with wellness activities, contributing to the diversification of tourism offerings in South Cotabato.

“Another popular wellness destination is the Mambukal Hot Sulphur Spring Resort, known for its natural hot spring pools believed to have therapeutic benefits,” Cerbo said.

Meanwhile, the Tri-People Monument in Suralah continues to attract guests interested in the province’s cultural identity.

The monument symbolizes unity among Christians, Muslims, and Indigenous Peoples a powerful representation of harmony that resonates with both local and international visitors.

Emerging lifestyle and entertainment destinations are also gaining traction. Euphoria, a modern leisure venue, appeals particularly to younger visitors seeking recreational activities, dining, and social experiences.

Its inclusion in the top destinations reflects changing tourism preferences and the growing role of urban leisure spots.

Nature enthusiasts likewise flock to Kolondatal Nature Park, a developing eco-tourism site known for its cool climate, green landscapes, and tranquil environment.

The park is increasingly recognized as an ideal retreat for those seeking respite from urban life.
