Koronadal City, South Cotabato — Amid rising fuel costs this summer, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato is encouraging travelers to explore nearby destinations and embrace smart and responsible travel within the province.
Known for its rich natural landscapes, vibrant culture, and deeply rooted traditions, South Cotabato offers a wide range of attractions—from scenic lakes and cool highland retreats to cultural communities and eco-tourism sites—making it an ideal summer destination without the need for long-distance travel.
According to Francisco M. Cerbo Jr., Tourism Operations Officer I and Promotions Head of the Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Museum (ACTM), making practical travel choices is especially important today.
“Bal-an naton nga magasto nagid ang mag-travel subong, amo nga gina-encourage naton ang mga turista nga maglakat sa South Cotabato,” Cerbo said.
He also emphasized that choosing destinations closer to home is not only economical but also beneficial to local businesses.
As of January 2026, a total of nine accredited travel agencies are operating in the province, ensuring safe, reliable, and quality travel services for both local and visiting tourists.
“May ara kita siyam ka travel agencies nga accredited. Makita ini sa Facebook page sang DOT RXII kag City Government of Koronadal, pati man sa Land of the Dreamweavers kag South Cotabato Promotions and Marketing Facebook page,” he added.
To further promote local tourism, accredited tour operators are offering affordable tour packages within the province. These include one-day tour packages priced at around ₱1,199 per person, allowing tourists to conveniently visit key destinations across South Cotabato.
“May ara kita mga tour packages nga ang byahe diri lang sa probinsya sang South Cotabato kag affordable,” Cerbo noted.
Tourists who wish to avail of these packages or learn more may visit the Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Museum (ACTM) Office, where a list of accredited tour operators and available packages can be accessed.
The Department of Tourism has also released an updated list of accredited establishments in the province. Here is the list of Department of Tourism-accredited establishments in South Cotabato as of March 2026.
