The 2016 Search for the Cleanest and Greenest LGU is now on the home stretch with the conduct of the unannounced final evaluation that started on May 30 and will culminate on June 15, the agreed “window period” of the contest.
Up for grab for this year’s winners are cash incentives worth P2.12 million in which the First Prize will receive P800,000.00; Second Prize P500,000.00; Third Prize P3000,000.00; Fourth Prize P150,000.00; Fifth Prize P70,000.00; Sixth Prize P50,000.00. A cash incentive of P10,000.00 each will also be given as consolation prize to non-winners.
Aside from major awards, Special Prizes will be given also to LGUs with the Best Plaza and Parks – P30,000.00; Best Public Market – P30,000.00; Best Central Material Recovery Facility – P30,000.00; Best City/Municipal Nursery – P30,000.00; Best Roadside Beautification – P30,000.00; Best Community Garden – P20,000.00; Best Backyard Garden – P10,000.00; Best Public Toilet – P10,000.00. For Best Barangay, the first prize winner will receive P30,000.00, second prize winner P20,000.00 and third prize winner P10,000.00.
Consolidation of the announced initial and unannounced final results by the evaluators will be from June 17 – 18, while the official announcement of the winners will be made during the opening program of the 2016 T’nalak Festival on July 11 at the South Cotabato Sports Complex.
Evaluators of the search are Elbe Balucanag of the Provincial Environment Management Office, Jose Perez of the Provincial Planning and Development Office, Engr. Risaldy Quienes of the Integrated Provincial Health Office, Fruto Sumagaysay Jr. of the Provincial Information Office, Julius Mella of the Arts, Culture, Tourism, Sports and Museum Promotions Unit, Sheree Ann Reyes of the South Cotabato Foundation Inc. and Ginalyn Zamora of Dolle Phils.
The Search for the Cleanest and Greenest LGU is an annual program of the provincial government that aims to recognize and give incentives to LGUs that excel in clean and green programs and other environmental programs in their respective area.
