Four (4) municipalities and the lone city of the province will battle it out in the Thematic Dance Showdown Contest that will be staged during the opening on July 14 of the 56th Foundation Anniversary and 23rd T’nalak Festival of South Cotabato.
Emmanue; Jumilla, O-I-C – Provincial Planning & Development Office and Chairperson of the T’nalak Openinhg Program Committee, disclosed that the 5 LGUs are City of Koronadal, Tupi, Surallah, Sto. Nino and Norala.
“The 5 LGUs will be given P15,000 seed money each to help defray expenses such as choreographer/trainer fees, costumes, food expense during practice transportation expense during the contest proper, among others,,” Jumilla confirmed.
The participants, composed of dancers between 30 to 50, coming from different schools chosen by their respective LGU, will perform based ftom this year’s T’nalak theme “Weaving Dreams Into Reality.”
Aside from seed money, winning contingents will receive P100,000 (First Prize), P75,000 (Second Prize), P50,000 (Third Prize) and 2 consolation prizes of P20,000 each.
Jumilla likewise confirmed that Senator Jinggoy Estrada will be the Guest of Honor & Speaker durihg the Opening Program.
