As the latest addition to the cohort of commitment-holders at the sub-national level of the OGP – Local Program, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato has developed the South Cotabato – OGP Action Plan 2018 – 2020 and with it, its five (5) commitments to the OGP, namely: 1) Open Information, 2) Open Monitoring and Evaluation, 3) Open Contracting, 4) Open Mining Information, and, 5) Open Legislation. One of the commitments, Open Contracting, aims to make the procurement process more open and efficient, enhancing the capacity of the provincial government in implementing quality projects, and eventually deliver efficient and effective services to the public.
In order to advance the implementation of this commitment, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato together with the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), has conducted the following series of activities starting from January 29 to February 1, 2019:
- January 29, 2019: Data Literacy Workshop on Open Contracting at FB Hotel, City of Koronadal, South Cotabato.
- January 30, 2019:
- 8:00 am – 12:00 pm: Data Pipeline and Document Mapping at FB Hotel, City of Koronadal
- 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm: Focus Group Discussion on Disclosure and Tools at FB Hotel, City of Koronadal
- January 31 – February 1, 2019: Writeshop on Administrative/Internal Procurement Policies at Sarangani Highlands, General Santos City
