DOH conducts Micro-Planning on OPV Synchronized Mass Immunization for South Cotabato

CITY OF KORONADAL — After conducting the 2nd round of Oral Polio Vaccination (OPV) Synchronized Mass Immunization last November 25 – December 13, 2019 for South Cotabato, the Department of Health (DOH) 12 spearheaded once again Micro-Planning on OPV Synchronized Mass Immunization Activity Round 3 for the province last January 9-10 at Cinco Ninas, this city.

Provincial Health Officer II Dr. Rogelio B. Aturdido Jr. in his message during the activity congratulated all health workers for a job well done, adding “that I understand your hardships (during the mass vaccination) particularly the exposure to heat of health workers.”

“Despite the over-all 93.79% accomplishment (which is short from the 95% target), you still deserve recognition because you all continue with your work despite the hardships you experienced,” Dr. Aturdido stressed.

DOH 12 gave updates during the 2-day activity on Acute Flaxid Paralysis (AFP) Guidelines on Polio Outbreak Response, Vaccine Management Guidelines, National Polio Communication, ODK Data Application, Micro-planning workshop, among others.

Round 3 of the OPV Synchronized Mass Immunization was scheduled on January 20 – February 2 this year by DOH Central Office which targeted children aged 0-59 months old.
