Koronadal City—South Cotabato famous zipline ride at Lake Sebu town was closed for four days for maintenance check-up, the Office of the Provincial Governor announced Monday.
Rudy Jimenea, Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo’s Executive Assistant, said: “only the zipline ride will be closed starting January 13 until January 16 to monitor the integrity of the infrastructure for efficient and effective service.”
The zipline ride will be operational on January 17, 2020.
Jimenea, however, emphasized that tourists could still visit the Seven Falls and enjoy the area.
Marlyn Almaden, South Cotabato Enterprise Management Officer-in-Charge, stressed out that the annual monitoring appraises the safety of the zipline cables.
“The consultants are here to evaluate the cable and the tension,” Almaden said.
Mario Sorongon, Revenue Generation Chief, said that in 2019, the Seven Zipline ride generated a total income of P8.9M, making it the highest income-generating project of the province.
On the other hand, Seven Falls management reached up to P1.1M income through its entrance fees last year.
Government tax collectors gained P18, 000 from entrance fees yesterday even the zipline ride was temporarily closed.
