DepEd Southcot gets Php45 million from SEF

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the Provincial School Board Chaired by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. has approved Php45 million Special Education Fund as financial support of the different programs and projects of the DepEd South Cotabato Division.

Based on the Statement of Appropriations recently approved by the PSB, these funds will be used for three objects of expenditures.

Php13.63 million will be intended for the Operation and Maintenance of Public Schools which include the provision of honorarium for regular and extension classes teachers amounting to Php5.94 million; facilities and equipment which include the purchase of musical instruments and audiovisual communication systems worth Php1.23 million; and purchase of books and periodicals for kindergarten classes and Grades 1-111 worth Php6.44 million.

Sports development gets the highest bulk in the SEF funds amounting to Php25.69 million.
The fund will be used from the conduct of the Provincial Meet, Regional meet, and the Palarong Pambansa.

Support to Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) Program gets Php5.6 million which will be used to pay for the honorarium of the Child Development Teachers and Day Care Workers.

Based on the Local Government Code, the SEF fund is the imposed annual additional tax of one per centum (1%) on the assessed value of real property in addition to the real property tax regularly levied thereon under existing laws.
