SouthCot allocates Php43.7 million relief assistance to Covid-19 affected families

The Provincial Government of South Cotabato has allocated at least Php43.7 million for the relief assistance efforts to families affected by Covid-19 in the province.
Rudy Jimenea, Executive Assistant IV from the Office of the Provincial Governor reports that as of April April 29, 2020, the province has distributed the 266,853 food packs to the following municipalities to wit:
Koronadal City- 70,673
Norala -23,040
Polomolok – 59,540
Banga – 13,926
Sto. NIñ0-3,974
Tupi- 21,000
Tantangan- 14,193
Surallah-17,117
Tboli-25,000
Tampakan-10,000
Lake Sebu -8,390
Based on the distribution schedule, the province is tasked to distribute during the second, third, and fourth wave of relief distribution.
Aside from rice and canned goods, the provincial government also distributed fresh vegetables from the produce of local farmers in the province. This is to help them gain income, especially in this crisis.
The provision of relief assistance to disaster-affected families was taken from the following funds; 2020 Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Fund- Investment Plan Quick Response Fund worth Php14.7 million, 70% PDRRMF worth Php20.18 million and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office worth Php8.8 million
