South Cotabato guv to deliver SOPA

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamado is set to deliver his State of the Province’s Address this year in a  “new normal” setting in August.

Tamayo wanted his provincial report to his constituents to be simple yet meaningful.

Just like the celebration of this year’s 54th Foundation anniversary of the province, which faces many challenges but still the essence of the celebration continues by giving honor and glory to God.

This year’s governance is also faced with the crisis brought about by the pandemic but as the province holds on to its faith, services continue and all-important programs and projects were still delivered to the people.

His report dubbed as “Tama at Maayo na Serbisyo”  will focus on the new brand of governance which is beyond the usual programs and projects people are accustomed to.

His report will focus on the Free education program through the implementation of the “zero collection Policy”. A total of Php13 million was allocated for the hiring of 185 provincial School Board Teachers and 285 School Utility Workers and Guards as early as his first 100 days in office.

Tamayo will also report his accomplishments on the “Free hospitalization program”  not only focusing on the “zero billing policy “ in all government-managed hospitals in the province but free consultation for outpatients as well.

The implementation of the Play Support Fund also helps ease the burden of farmers due to the decrease in palay prices.  Tamayo allotted Php10 million which benefitted at least 130 farmers

On Social service, the provinces implemented the 7-days a week assistance center wherein social workers are on duty to cater to the needs of those individuals in crisis every day of the week, from Monday to Sunday.

This time of the covid-19 pandemic, Tamayo ensured the protection of its constituents and medical health workers, he declared  a  pre-emptive lockdown to lessen the spread of coronavirus in the province.

To fight covid, he ensures the implementation of the 3Ts which is to Test, Treat, and  Track initiatives.

Treat is the  establishment covid -19 center at the Soccsksargen General Hospital though the hiring of at least 43 job order workers and additional hiring of nurses, medical technologists, radiologic technicians, nursing attendants, and utility workers.

Test was realized through the granting of the license to operate of the Dr. Arturo  Pingoy Memorial Medical Center as a covid testing laboratory. This facility is a public-private partnership of the province and the DAPMMC.

Track. The tracking system is presently put in place through an ordinance approved by the Sangguniang Panlalalwigan and is being used as contact tracing of the province.

“ Sa loob ng isang taon, nalagpasan natin ang mga pagsubok na dumating sa ating probinsiya. Nilugmok man tayo ng mga pagsubok na ito, patuloy tayong babangon at ito rin ang magpapatatag sa atin upang magpatuloy.” He said,

His provincial report which will adhere to the new normal will be delivered virtually via the official Facebook page of the province, the “Provincial Government of South Cotabato”.
