“Follow health protocols, we are not yet safe” -Tamayo

South Cotabato governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. called on provincial employees to be productive in giving public service to the people amidst the pandemic.

As Christmas is near, he reminds everyone to refrain from going to gatherings such as Christmas parties and reunions.

For the first time this year, the provincial government will not hold its yearly Christmas party for all employees.

He also reminds everyone to always follow health protocols set by the Department of Health.

“We are not yet safe,” Tamayo said,

As of December 1, 2020, the total number of cases in the province rose to 991 cases with 70 active cases.  Despite the recoveries of 903 individuals, covid has claimed the lives of at least 18 people.

He disclosed that there are still many cases in the province and most of these do not come from the Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) or the Returning Overseas Foreign (ROFs) workers, instead, it is now locally acquired.

“If we want to protect our family against the virus, we should refrain from roaming around.” He said

Earlier this week, Governor Tamayo issue a new executive order from December 1 to December 31 which states that curfew hours will still be from 10 pm to 5 am, however, due to the conduct of “Simbang gabi” he will allow churchgoers to go out by 3 am to attend masses.
