Frontline health care workers in the province of South Cotabato have implied getting vaccinated with the Sinovac shot.
Chief of SCPH, Dr. Conrado Braña, said they received numerous requests among identified priority health workers, he said such a number has so far increased and they expect that more will signify to be inoculated.
The 5th batch of vaccines 2,082 doses of Sinovac CoronaVac has arrived at the Vaccine Room of the South Cotabato Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) last April 8, 2021.
According to information from the Department of Health – Center for Health Development SOCCSKSARGEN Region, the vaccines are intended for healthcare workers in the Priority Groups A1.6 to A1.7, namely: frontline workers in standalone facilities and clinics, diagnostic centers, dialysis centers, dental clinics, and other facilities for COVID-19 research, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home for the aged home care facilities, orphanages, jails, detention centers, correctional facilities; Bureau of Corrections facilities, and drug treatment and rehabilitation centers.
As of March 31, a total of 39,927 frontline healthcare workers across the SOCCSKSARGEN Region have already received their first shot of COVID-19 vaccine out of the first 4 batches of Sinovac CoronaVac and Oxford AstraZeneca vaccines that the Department of Health – Center for Health Development (DOH-CHD) XII delivered to provincial and city health offices from March 6 to 22.
Of the number, 32,225 were inoculated with AstraZeneca vaccine and 7,702 with Sinovac vaccine, according to a monitoring report from the DOH-CHD XII.
The same report indicated that as of March 31, 90.81 percent of the deployed vaccines have been consumed.
Vaccination of frontline healthcare workers using the downloaded vaccines will continue until April 7 (Wednesday).
Meanwhile, the inoculation of the second dose of vaccine into healthcare workers who received the Sinovac vaccine from March 8 to 14 has started Monday (April 5).
