The Provincial Government of South Cotabato announces that it will start to implement an additional 15% daily wage increase for its Job Orders and Contract of Service Workers in September.
Provincial Administrator Atty. Renette B. Bergado said during the Monday Convocation program that the increase was based on the proposal submitted by Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
“ We expressed gratitude to the SP for their approval of the ordinance,” Bergado said,
Based on Resolution No.491 entitled; “A Resolution approving the revised wage rate of job order and contract of service workers and the creation of additional job and contract of service positions in the provincial government of South Cotabato,” approved by the SP, at least 100 JOs and COs positions will receive 15% wage increase.
The resolution provides that the wage increase is aimed at augmenting the workforce in the provincial government by the creation of additional positions and compensating the JO and COS workers of the province for the services they rendered by increasing their current wage rate.
Aside from the daily wage increase, job order workers are also set to receive their Php3,000 gratuity pay.
“Admin officers are advised to prepare the payrolls for this purpose, ” Bergado added.
She added that the provincial government is grateful for the contribution of these workers in the delivery of basic services to the province.
As part of its appreciation, all job order workers who have served the province for more than 10 years will be given a casual status.
Starting January next year, at least 80 additional JOs will be granted casual status, making it more than 300 casual workers for the province who will also avail of more benefits just like the regular ones.
“Just continue with your hard work, and the government will give what is due to all of you,” Bergado said,
