Rice and vegetable farmers receive complete fertilizers from OPAG

Vegetable farmers from the municipality of Tampakan received at least forty (40) sacks of complete vegetable fertilizers from the  Provincial Government of South Cotabato through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPAG).

Provincial Agriculturist Raul Teves said this assistance is given to help the beneficiaries lower their cost of production and increase their income.

Teves said in his message,  “ Walang maiiwan sa pag-ANGAT dito sa Probinsya. Sinisikap ng Provincial Government ng South Cotabato na mabigyan ng ayuda lalo na ang mga nasa sektor ng pagsasaka.”

He added despite the pandemic brought about by Covid-19, the services for the farmers and the fisherfolks will continue in the province.

The distribution was spearheaded by the team coming from the Fields Operations Division, Crop Development Section of OPAG composed of the  Provincial HVCDP Coordinator, Ms. Maylin B. Delos Santos, Senior Agriculturist Mr. Rommel F. Eladia, and Ms. Regine E. Eladia, Agriculturist 1.

Tampakan Municipal Agriculturist Alex F. Alcantara also expressed his gratitude to the OPAG as this assistance will help support farmers in the locality to produce more vegetables and food for the tables.

Earlier, 40 rice farmers from Tboli town also received at least one sack of complete fertilizers each.  These farmers coming from the barangays of  Talufo, Lemsnolon, New Dumanggas, Edwards at Kematu were affected by flash floods and landslides that occurred middle of last year.  The assistance is set to help these farmers to start anew since their crops were totally washed out.
