Koronadal City—Philippine Health Insurance Regional Office XII confirmed that nine rural health units in South Cotabato are already PhilHealth KONSULTA facilities as of December last year.

The program refers to the primary care benefit package of PhilHealth. It is paid per capita and covers a defined set of primary care health services based on their life- stage, health risks, and needs for which all Filipinos are entitled to.
“This means that your medical check-up, health screening and assessment, laboratory and medicines are now free provided that your favorite doctor and facility are KONSULTA accredited provider,” Naanep said.
The program aims to encourage the public to visit their doctor regularly even without an ailment, Naanep stressed out.
In order to inform the people of South Cotabato regarding the current status of PhilHealth’s Region 12 accomplishment, Naanep presented the four major operational activities of PhilHealth that includes enrolling, collecting, and payments for hospitalization and process of accreditation.
In terms of collection, Region 12 achieved 91% from its target collection. They urpassed their target collection in the employed sector by 108%.
In terms of membership, out of 5 million target, PhilHealth enrolled at least 88 %.
Last year, PhilHealth claimed that they have processed 79% claims of their target performance.
“PhilHealth is very keen in evaluating claims to secure and validate the member’s claims,” Naanep said.
On the other hand, all PhilHealth accredited healthcare facilities renewed their membership to PhilhHealth.
The government health insurance denies numerous claims due to insufficiency of records of some members and their healthcare provider or the facilities are not accredited. She, however, assured that a member can file an appeal of reconsideration.
