Lake Sebu is most visited tourist destination in South Cotabato

Lake Sebu town in South Cotabato registered the most number of tourist arrivals from January to September this year, the Arts, Culture, Tourism and Museum (ACTM) Unit reported.

Dubbed the eco-cultural destination of the province and also known for its delicious tilapia delicacies, Lake Sebu’s visitors totaled 699,857 Same Day Visitors and Guest Nights) for the first 9 months of the year.

Placing second in the list is Surallah, one of the fast emerging LGUs in the upper valley area of the province with 240,664. Third is Tupi where the majestic Mt. Matutum resides with 174,256. It also known as the fruit and flower basket of the province.

Catching up with Tupi is Banga which is known as the resort capital of the province with 135,653, followed by the City of Koronasdal, South Cotabato’s capital and lone component city with 70,137.

The rest of the LGUs in South Cotabato registered the following: Norala – 65,441,  Tboli- 40,298, Tampakan- 12,569, Sto. Nino – 6,272, Tantangan – 1,682, Polomolok – 940,

South Cotabato now has a total of 447,819 registered tourist arrivals consisting of Same Day Visitors and Guest Nights patronized by both  Domestic and Foreign Visitors for the 9-month period.
